💰 MBBS fee 2026-27, head by head

In one line: the sheet totals ₹29,000 (OC/BC) and ₹27,000 (SC/ST), but only ₹14,000 of that comes back each year.

Fee headOC/BCSC/STFrequencyReading note
Tuition Fee₹10,000₹10,000YearlyIdentical for SC/ST — no reserved-category tuition concession here.
CDS₹5,000₹5,000One timePaid once at admission.
E-Library₹2,000₹2,000YearlyRecurring.
Central Stores₹2,000₹2,000One timePaid once at admission.
Library Fee₹2,000₹2,000YearlyRecurring, and separate from the e-library head.
Caution Deposit₹3,000₹3,000One timeThe sheet states no refund terms for this one, unlike the hostel caution deposit which it marks refundable.
Academic Development Fund₹3,000₹1,000One timeThe only head that differs by category. The whole ₹2,000 gap sits here.
Non-Government Fund₹2,000₹2,000One timePaid once at admission.
Total at admission₹29,000₹27,000A first payment, not an annual fee.

Worked example. The recurring part is ₹14,000 a year; the one-time part is ₹15,000 (OC/BC) or ₹13,000 (SC/ST). The college’s own note reads: “candidates shall pay the Fee in 5 equal Installments in the course duration of 4 ½ years”. Five instalments of ₹14,000 plus the one-time head works out at about ₹85,000 for the whole MBBS (OC/BC) and ₹83,000 (SC/ST) — our arithmetic on the college’s heads, not a total the college prints. Nothing in the table should be multiplied by 4.5.

Excluded: hostel and mess, books, instruments, uniforms, travel and living costs — and, for All-India Quota entrants only, a university fee of ₹12,000 by demand draft to the Registrar, KNR University of Health Sciences, Warangal. A Competent Authority Quota entrant does not pay that ₹12,000 at joining.

Official source: MBBS Admission Fee Structure (2026-27), page 11 of the college’s Admissions for MBBS Course 2026-2027 guidelines, captured 24 August 2026. Two further college documents agree with it line for line — the 2025-26 fee sheet (page 10 of that year’s guidelines) and the 2024-2025 scan on gmcsecunderabad.org/fee-structure. Heads and amounts are unchanged across all three cycles.

🏠 Hostel fee, and who actually gets a room

In one line: ₹23,000 in year one, of which ₹12,000 is rent — and a room is prioritised, not promised.

Hostel headAmountFrequencyReading note
Non-refundable amount₹5,000One timeMarked non-refundable on the sheet itself.
Caution deposit₹5,000One timeExplicitly marked refundable.
Rent₹12,000Per yearPrinted as ₹1,000 per month × 12 months.
Hostel admission application fee₹1,000One timeCharged for applying, which is not the same as getting a room.
Total₹23,000First-year figure. From year two only the ₹12,000 rent recurs.

Read the allocation rule literally. The college prints one line under this table: “Preference shall be given to the candidates who resides outside of the GHMC limits.” A home address inside Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits puts you behind an out-of-city candidate. Publication of a tariff is not the allotment of a room. No mess or diet charge appears on the sheet, so budget food separately — and a college whose hostel figure bundles mess is not comparable to this one.

Official source: Hostel Fee Structure, page 11 of the Admissions for MBBS Course 2026-2027 guidelines, captured 24 August 2026. The GHMC-preference line appears in the 2026-27 sheet and not in the 2025-26 one.

🎯 Seats and the 2026 All-India Quota closing ranks

In one line: 250 sanctioned seats, and in MCC’s first round of 2026 the Open All-India seat closed at rank 2,756.

Total allotted in Round 130

How to read these. They are All-India MCC ranks, so they say nothing about the Telangana Competent Authority Quota, where a local candidate competes on the KNRUHS state merit list. They are Round 1 and provisional: Round 1 closes at the toughest ranks of the cycle, so a rank outside 2,756 is not out of reach, it is out of Round 1. The PwD rank sits on a separate merit list and must never be lined up against open-category ranks. And Round 1 did not empty the quota — 15% of a 250-seat intake is about 37 seats, 30 were allotted, and the balance carried into later rounds.

State-quota cutoff: updating soon. KNRUHS publishes Competent Authority Quota closing ranks phase by phase; we will print them against the phase that produced them rather than guess now.

⚖️ The ₹20 lakh bond nobody mentions until reporting day

In one line: a discontinuation bond, not a service bond — it costs nothing if you finish, and ₹20,00,000 if you walk away.

At admission the candidate and parent sign a notarised KNRUHS bond on stamp paper undertaking to pay ₹20,00,000 to KNR University of Health Sciences if the student discontinues after joining, or after the second phase of admissions has been announced, with a three-year debarment from MBBS and BDS admission anywhere in Telangana. The text cites G.O.Ms.No. 125, 126 and 127, Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department, dated 22.09.2022.

The part that catches families on the day: the bond needs two sureties submitting Aadhaar and PAN copies, and the document states that parents are not eligible as sureties and that sureties must be income-tax payees or gazetted officers. Line up two such people before you travel to report. Three further undertakings are signed the same day. Two of them are notarised on non-judicial stamp paper — a Genuinity Bond and an anti-drug undertaking citing the NDPS Act 1985. The third, Forms I and II, the anti-ragging undertakings by student and parent under the NMC regulations of 2021, is signed before two witnesses; the college’s proforma asks for no notary on those two.

Official source: Admissions for MBBS Course 2026-2027 — discontinuation bond proforma (page 7), surety proforma (page 8), Genuinity Bond (page 9), anti-drug undertaking (page 10), Forms I and II (pages 5-6). Captured 24 August 2026.

📝 Reporting, sliding and the refund trap

In one line: if you intend to slide, pay by demand draft — ₹2,000 is deducted and the rest refunded, faster on a DD than online.

Physical reporting is compulsory to keep a Round-1 seat while asking for an upgrade. The college states that candidates giving willingness for Round-2 upgradation while retaining a Round-1 seat have to report physically at the allotted institute to confirm admission — a state-quota rule. Reporting hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

If you slide out later, a uniform processing charge of ₹2,000 is deducted and the balance refunded. The college advises candidates who intend to take part in subsequent rounds to pay both the university fee and the college fee by demand draft rather than online, to avoid delay in the refund. If Gandhi is your final choice, online is fine; if you are holding it while chasing an upgrade, the DD is the cheaper mistake.

📁 The four documents Gandhi asks for differently

The standard counselling file is covered in our documents for counselling checklist. Four items on this college’s list are stricter than the generic version, and those are the ones that send candidates home.

DocumentWhat Gandhi Medical College specifies
Residential certificateIssued by an MRO or Tahsildar of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh for 10 years, with exact month and year, excluding any period of study or employment outside the state. This is what decides your Local or Non-Local status.
OBC certificateFor the OBC quota, only a certificate issued by the concerned state government is valid.
PwD certificateMust be issued this cycle — December 2025 or January 2026 — by the medical board of an MCC-authorised centre. An older disability certificate is not accepted.
EWS certificateFor the year 2025-26, issued by a Tahsildar of the state of Telangana.

The college also asks for study and conduct certificates covering classes 9-10 and Intermediate separately, a caste certificate carrying the father’s name, a GAP certificate where applicable, and two full sets of copies of every certificate and bond.

🔗 The KNRUHS codes you fill in yourself

After allotment the college asks every admitted student to fill a KNRUHS proforma in codes, not words. One wrong code delays enrolment.

FieldCodesWhat it means
LocalityOU / AU / SVU / NLTelangana region, Andhra region, Rayalaseema region, non-local. Your home region, taken from the residential certificate.
Allotted localityLOC / UNR / AIQLocal, unreserved region, or All-India Quota — the basis on which the seat was given, which is not always your own locality.
Allotted quotaCQ / AIQ / STRAYCompetent Authority Quota via KNRUHS; All-India Quota via MCC; stray vacancy.
PhaseP1, P2, P3 (mop-up), P4, P5, P6, STRAYThe college warns explicitly: a candidate who got Gandhi in P1, applied for sliding and got Gandhi again in P2 must record P2, not P1.
CategoryOC, SC, ST, BCA, BCB, BCC, BCD, BCE, EWSTelangana splits BC five ways. An AIQ candidate whose category is OBC is told to select Others, because OBC is not a Telangana state category.

🏥 Gandhi Hospital — what the clinical years rest on

In one line: 2,200 operational beds, which is the strongest argument for this college over a smaller new government one.

Gandhi Hospital’s own Telangana government site states an operational bed strength of 2,200. It traces itself to an infirmary of three wards in 1851, a 95-bed cantonment hospital in 1900 and King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1913; the college was established in 1954, recognised by the Medical Council of India in 1956, and the hospital became its teaching hospital in 1958. It records being the first open-heart-surgery centre of the combined state of Andhra Pradesh and the first with cathlab facilities for training DM Cardiology students, and publishes ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certification.

Bed count, not ranking, is the metric to weigh between two government colleges charging the same ₹10,000 tuition: it is a proxy for the volume and variety of cases you will see on your clinical postings.

✅ What the regulator’s own record says

Every parent asks whether a college is safe. The NMC publishes the answer per college; for Gandhi Medical College Secunderabad (record gmcsecu) it reads:

NMC questionAnswer on the record
Has the college ever been denied a batch? No
Has there been any stoppage of admission? No
Was any permission ever granted through a court order? No
Was renewal of permission ever granted on an undertaking? No
Skill lab availableYes
Equipment as per the UG Minimum Standard RequirementsYes
Emergency and casualty services availableYes
Accommodation for at least 75% of studentsYes

Anti-tout note. All 250 seats are filled on NEET merit through KNRUHS or MCC. There is no management quota, no NRI quota and no paid direct admission at a Telangana government medical college. Anyone offering a guaranteed seat here for money is running a scam. Our guidance is free, and the college’s fee is paid to the college against a receipt.

📋 Eligibility and the two routes in, in short

Eligibility here is the national NMC rule, not a Gandhi rule, and the two counselling routes are the standard ones. Both are set out in full on our NEET 2026 guide, MBBS admission guide and AIQ vs state quota — there is nothing college-specific to add, so this page does not repeat them. Other Telangana options sit on the Telangana MBBS hub. What is specific to this college is everything above: its fee heads, its hostel rule, its bond, its documents and its codes. Found an error? Tell us and we will check it against the source document and correct it.

💼 Where free counselling helps at Gandhi Medical College

You cannot buy a government seat, but for a candidate near the cutoff we can read your NEET rank and category against these closing ranks, order your KNRUHS web options, and make sure the 10-year residential certificate and the two sureties for the bond are ready before you travel to report. It is guidance, never a seat purchase.

❓ Frequently asked questions — Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad MBBS 2026

250. The NMC seat matrix as on 29.10.2025 lists Gandhi Medical College Secunderabad at 250 MBBS seats for AY 2025-26 (row 624). They split between the 15% All India Quota filled by MCC and the Telangana Competent Authority Quota filled by KNRUHS. There is no management or NRI quota here.
The college's own 2026-27 sheet prints a first payment of Rs 29,000 for OC/BC and Rs 27,000 for SC/ST. Only Rs 14,000 of that recurs each year (tuition Rs 10,000 + e-library Rs 2,000 + library Rs 2,000); the rest is one-time. The sheet says the fee is paid in five equal instalments over the 4.5-year course.
Only by Rs 2,000, and not on tuition. Tuition is Rs 10,000 a year for OC/BC and SC/ST alike. The single head that differs is the one-time Academic Development Fund, Rs 3,000 against Rs 1,000. That is the whole gap between the Rs 29,000 and Rs 27,000 totals.
In MCC Round 1 (provisional), 2026 the closing All India ranks were 2,756 Open, 4,352 OBC, 4,691 EWS, 26,995 SC and 34,802 ST, with 30 seats allotted. These are All India MCC ranks, not the Telangana state-counselling cutoff, and later MCC rounds close at worse ranks than Round 1.
The 2026-27 hostel tariff totals Rs 23,000: rent Rs 1,000 a month for 12 months, a one-time non-refundable Rs 5,000, a refundable caution deposit of Rs 5,000 and a Rs 1,000 application fee. No mess or diet charge is listed. A seat is not guaranteed: the college gives preference to candidates residing outside the GHMC limits.
Yes, but a discontinuation bond, not a service bond. Candidate and parent sign a notarised KNRUHS bond for Rs 20,00,000 payable if the student leaves after joining or after the second phase of admissions is announced, plus a three-year debarment from MBBS and BDS admission in Telangana. It cites G.O.Ms.No. 125, 126 and 127, HM and FW Department, dated 22.09.2022, and needs two sureties who are income-tax payees or gazetted officers. Parents are not accepted as sureties.
Yes. The 2026-27 sheet carries a university fee of Rs 12,000 marked for AIQ students only, by demand draft to the Registrar, KNR University of Health Sciences, Warangal. A Competent Authority Quota entrant does not pay it at joining.
The college deducts a uniform processing charge of Rs 2,000 and refunds the balance. Its 2026-27 guidelines advise candidates who intend to take part in later rounds to pay both the university fee and the college fee by demand draft rather than online, to avoid delay in the refund.
