Key Facts & Quick Contact

FindUrCollege Pay-After-Admission Model

FindUrCollege does NOT charge any upfront counselling fee, registration fee, or "shortlisting fee" from students or parents. Our core guidance — profile assessment, college shortlisting and standard counselling — is delivered free of cost to students, and we are compensated by partner colleges after a confirmed admission. Optional premium services (such as our Premium Admission Counselling packages) are paid; those fees are listed on our Services page and are governed by this Cancellation & Refund Policy.

This means: you can use our College Predictor, talk to our counsellors, attend in-person consultations, and receive personalised college shortlists without paying us anything. There is no risk to you, no hidden fee, and no obligation to take admission at any college we suggest.

You only ever pay TWO things in your admission journey: (1) the college's own admission/registration/tuition fees directly to the college, and (2) the entrance exam fees directly to the exam authority. FindUrCollege never collects either on your behalf.

When Refunds Apply

Refunds from FindUrCollege: Since we don't charge counselling fees, the question of refund from FindUrCollege does not arise in normal circumstances.

Refunds from colleges: Refund of admission fees, tuition fees, hostel deposits etc. is governed by the individual college's policy and the AICTE/UGC/NMC/COA refund regulations applicable to that course (e.g., AICTE Refund Notice 2018 for engineering and management seats).

If you cancel admission before reporting: AICTE Refund Notice mandates 100% refund of all fees paid (tuition, hostel, mess) minus a maximum ₹1,000 processing fee, IF you cancel before the last date of admission as notified by the college.

If you cancel after reporting but before classes begin: 90% refund typically applies (10% deduction for processing).

If you cancel after classes begin: Refund percentage drops sharply (50-70% in first month, 0-30% after first semester). Each college publishes its own refund policy in the admission letter.

Token Amount & Seat Blocking — Refund Rules

Some students opt to pay a "token amount" or "seat-blocking deposit" of ₹25,000 to ₹2 lakh directly to the college through FindUrCollege's coordination. This is a college-side payment, not a FindUrCollege fee.

Token amount refund: Most colleges refund 100% of the token amount IF the student decides not to take admission — provided cancellation is requested within 15-30 days of token payment AND before the college's admission deadline.

Token forfeiture risk: If you delay cancellation beyond the college's deadline, the college may forfeit the token amount as per their published refund schedule. Always read the token receipt carefully — refund terms are stated.

FindUrCollege role: We facilitate refund coordination with the college on your behalf, but the actual refund is processed by the college's accounts department directly to your bank account. Refund processing time: 15-45 working days, depending on college.

AICTE Approved Refund Schedule for Engineering & Management

Cancellation 15+ days before course commencement: 100% refund of fees paid, minus ₹1,000 processing fee.

Cancellation up to 15 days before course commencement: Refund of 90% of fees paid, minus ₹1,000 processing fee.

Cancellation up to 15 days after course commencement: Refund of 80% of fees paid.

Cancellation 15-30 days after course commencement: Refund of 50% of fees paid.

Cancellation more than 30 days after course commencement: No refund.

Note: Above schedule is per AICTE Refund Notice (2018). NMC has separate guidelines for medical colleges. Some private universities have stricter no-refund clauses; always check the admission letter.

Caveat for management/NRI quota: Some private colleges have stricter no-refund clauses for management quota seats. Review the admission letter carefully before paying.

Cancellation Process — How to Initiate

Step 1 — Inform FindUrCollege counsellor: Email support@findurcollege.com or WhatsApp +91 91126 50438 with your admission reference number and reason for cancellation.

Step 2 — Submit written request to the college: Most colleges require a written cancellation letter (signed) submitted in person or via registered post/email to the college admission office.

Step 3 — Submit original documents request: If your original certificates were submitted to the college, request their return as part of the cancellation letter.

Step 4 — Bank details for refund: Provide your bank account details (account number, IFSC, branch) for direct refund credit. Avoid third-party accounts.

Step 5 — Track refund: FindUrCollege will follow up with the college's accounts team on your behalf weekly until the refund is credited.

Typical refund timeline: 15-45 working days from cancellation request approval, depending on the college's payment processing cycle.

Special Cases & Disputes

Medical emergencies / family hardship: Most colleges grant compassionate refunds beyond their published schedule in genuine medical or financial hardship cases. Submit medical certificate or hardship documentation along with the cancellation request.

Visa rejection (for international students): If a student is unable to join due to visa rejection, most Indian colleges refund 100% upon submission of visa rejection letter from the consulate.

NEET/JEE/CET re-result correction: If a student's entrance exam rank improves due to result revision and they want to switch colleges, a partial refund applies as per the college's discretion.

Admission denied by college: If after document verification the college denies admission (e.g., for incomplete documents or eligibility shortfall), 100% refund is mandatory.

Disputes: Any unresolved refund dispute can be escalated to AICTE/UGC/NMC student grievance cell, the State Education Department, or consumer court. FindUrCollege provides documentation support for student grievances at no charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does FindUrCollege charge any counselling or registration fee?

There is no fee for our core guidance — profile assessment, college shortlisting and standard counselling are free, and we are compensated by partner colleges after a confirmed admission. Optional premium services (such as Premium Admission Counselling) are paid; their fees are listed on our Services page and are governed by this refund policy.

What is the refund policy if I cancel my college admission?

Refund is governed by the individual college's policy and applicable AICTE/UGC/NMC/COA regulations. AICTE-approved engineering and MBA colleges follow a tiered refund schedule: 100% refund (minus ₹1,000) if cancelled before course commencement, 80% within 15 days of commencement, 50% within 30 days, 0% after that. Each college publishes its own policy in the admission letter.

How long does it take to receive a refund from the college?

15 to 45 working days typically, depending on the college's accounts processing cycle. FindUrCollege follows up weekly with the college on your behalf until the refund is credited to your bank account.

Can I get a refund on management quota seat cancellation?

Management quota refund policies are typically stricter than merit quota. Many private colleges have a non-refundable "development fee" component (₹50K-3L). Tuition fees follow the standard AICTE schedule. Always read the management quota admission letter carefully — refund terms vary widely between colleges.

What happens to my documents if I cancel admission?

Original certificates submitted to the college will be returned to you upon completion of the cancellation process — typically within 7-15 working days of refund approval. Submit a separate "Original Documents Return Request" along with your cancellation letter.

Is the seat-blocking token amount refundable?

In most cases yes — 100% of the token amount is refundable IF cancellation is requested within 15-30 days of token payment AND before the college's last admission date. Beyond these windows, the college may forfeit the token. Read the token receipt carefully — refund terms are stated explicitly.

What if I am rejected by the college during document verification?

100% refund is mandatory in cases where the college denies admission after document verification (e.g., for incomplete documents, eligibility shortfall, or fake certificates allegations). FindUrCollege provides full support to recover the refund along with original documents.

Can I escalate a refund dispute beyond the college?

Yes. Unresolved refund disputes can be escalated to AICTE student grievance cell (for engineering/MBA), UGC for general higher education, NMC for medical, or COA for architecture. State Education Departments and consumer courts also entertain such complaints. FindUrCollege provides documentation and escalation support free of charge.

Detailed FindUrCollege Engagement Process

FindUrCollege engagement typically begins with a free 30-minute initial consultation where our counsellor reviews the candidate's current academic profile, target programmes, financial considerations, and target admission year, and provides a high-level roadmap. If the family decides to engage us beyond the initial consultation, we begin with a detailed profile-assessment session covering academic credentials, extracurricular profile, family financial capacity, and downstream career aspirations. Through the rest of the journey — entrance preparation, application submission, post-result counselling — we operate as a dedicated admission partner with regular touchpoints and on-demand availability.

Our service portfolio spans entrance examination preparation guidance, college shortlisting with comparative analysis, counselling round strategy with multi-round participation guidance, documentation and application support including Apostille processing for international applications, hostel selection advisory, and ongoing post-admission career mentorship throughout the programme duration. Our role extends well beyond simply securing an admission seat — we partner with families across the full educational journey from Class 11 entrance preparation through post-graduation career launch.

Why FindUrCollege Operates on a Pay-After-Admission Model

FindUrCollege has operated on a transparent pay-after-admission advisory model since our founding in 2014. Under this model, families pay our counselling fee only after the admission is confirmed and the family is satisfied with the outcome. This structure aligns our incentives directly with family outcomes — we succeed only when our candidates succeed. The model contrasts with the traditional admission-consulting industry where upfront fees are collected regardless of whether the admission outcome meets family expectations, creating misaligned incentives where consultants may push candidates toward easier-to-secure but less-preferred options simply to claim a commission. Our team of 30+ counsellors includes alumni from IITs, NITs, IIMs, AIIMS, government medical colleges, NLUs, and other top Indian institutes, bringing first-hand programme experience to the counselling conversation.

What Refund-Eligibility Means for Pay-After-Admission Engagements

In our pay-after-admission engagement model, the question of refund eligibility primarily applies to advance payments (rare and only used for specific high-investment services like premium MBBS-abroad coordination) or in cases where unforeseen circumstances prevent admission completion. We maintain a transparent refund policy that respects family circumstances while protecting our team's service investment. Our refund policy is structured around clear milestones in the admission journey, with corresponding refund eligibility windows. Specific refund eligibility for any engagement is documented in writing in the signed engagement letter that we share at the start of each family relationship.

For any specific refund-related questions about your current or past FindUrCollege engagement, please reach out to our customer support team at support@findurcollege.com or via the contact form. We respond to refund-related queries within 2 business days. Our customer-success team works to ensure that families experience a fair, transparent, and respectful process regardless of the eventual engagement outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions on Cancellation and Refund

Q: What is the typical refund timeline for cancellation requests?

Refund processing typically takes 7-15 business days from the date of approved refund request. The timeline depends on the original payment method (UPI / Net Banking / Card / Bank Transfer), the receiving bank's policies, and the specific milestone-stage of the engagement at which cancellation was requested. We provide written confirmation of refund initiation within 2 business days of approval, with the actual credit reaching the family bank account within the standard banking timeline.

Q: Can I cancel my engagement after the initial consultation?

Yes — you can choose to discontinue engagement at any point. Since our model is pay-after-admission, there is no fee obligation if you decide not to proceed with our services after the initial consultation. We respect family decisions and do not pressure families to continue with us if they prefer a different approach. We may follow up to gather feedback on why the engagement did not progress, purely for our service-improvement purposes.

Q: What happens to the advance amount paid for premium services?

For premium services that involve advance payment (e.g., MBBS-abroad coordination requiring early-stage university application fee transfers), the refund eligibility depends on which milestone has been crossed at the time of cancellation. Specific terms are documented in the signed engagement letter shared at the start of the relationship. We work in good faith to ensure fair refund outcomes considering both family circumstances and the operational costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.

Q: Is the FindUrCollege fee refundable if I do not secure my preferred admission?

Under our pay-after-admission model, the fee is paid only after the admission is confirmed and the family is satisfied with the outcome. If the family is not satisfied with the admission outcome and chooses not to proceed with the recommended admission, no fee obligation arises. If the family proceeds with the admission and subsequently has concerns about the outcome, we work with them to address concerns directly rather than through a refund mechanism — our customer-success team partners with families to maximise satisfaction across the full educational journey.

Q: How can I escalate refund-related concerns?

If your refund concern is not satisfactorily addressed through the standard support channels, you can escalate to our Director of Operations by email at support@findurcollege.com with the subject line REFUND ESCALATION. Escalated cases are reviewed by our Director within 5 business days. We are committed to fair and transparent resolution of all family concerns.

Customer Support Contact Channels

For any cancellation or refund-related queries, you can reach our customer support team through the following channels: Email — support@findurcollege.com (response within 2 business days); WhatsApp — message us through the contact form on the website; Phone — call our customer support line during business hours (10 AM to 7 PM IST, Monday to Saturday); In-Person — schedule an in-person consultation at our Pune or Bengaluru office (where geographically feasible). We aim to address all customer concerns through a respectful, fair, and timely process.

Transparency and Trust at FindUrCollege

FindUrCollege has built our advisory business on a foundation of transparency and trust since founding in 2014. The pay-after-admission model is our most-visible expression of this commitment — but our broader operating philosophy includes transparent fee disclosures upfront, clear engagement-letter documentation of services and timelines, no-hidden-fees commitment, honest assessment of admission probabilities even when families prefer optimistic estimates, and respectful handling of disagreements or complaints. We believe that the long-term success of our business depends on family trust, and that trust is built through consistent transparency in every interaction. If you have any concerns about our process at any point in your engagement, please raise them directly with our customer success team — we welcome feedback and treat every concern as an opportunity to improve our service.

Engagement Letter and Service Documentation

Every FindUrCollege engagement is documented through a written engagement letter that we share at the start of the relationship. The engagement letter clearly specifies the scope of services, expected milestones, payment terms (including pay-after-admission specifics), refund eligibility provisions, communication channels, and the customer-support escalation path. We strongly recommend that families review the engagement letter carefully before formally engaging us, ask any clarifying questions in writing through email, and retain a copy of the engagement letter for future reference. The engagement letter is the authoritative document for any subsequent refund or service-clarification discussions.

Customer Success Philosophy

At FindUrCollege, we view family satisfaction not as the absence of complaints but as the active building of positive outcomes across the educational journey. Our customer-success team partners with families well beyond the formal admission moment — we stay in touch with our counselled families during the first year of programme experience to validate that the admission outcome is genuinely working for the candidate, address any settling-in challenges, and provide ongoing career mentorship as the candidate progresses through the programme.
