MHT-CET Counselling — Institute Level (IL) Rounds for Pune Colleges

Rule 13 requires the college to advertise the vacancy, invite applications, publish an inter-se merit list on its website and notice board, and admit from that list. It fills first-year B.Tech seats through allotment rounds it runs itself, on a JEE Main, MHT-CET or PERA-CET score plus a 500-word statement of purpose (MIT-WPU Admission Rule Book, First Year B.Tech [After 12th], A.Y. 2025-26, "Selection Process", page 11 of 16). MIT-WPU CET is not a route into this programme.
• No MIT-WPU cutoff exists, in any year. It does not appear anywhere in the State CET Cell's cut-off lists for CAP Round I or Round II 2026-27 — so any "MIT-WPU MHT-CET cutoff" you are shown was not published by the CET Cell, and is very often MIT Academy of Engineering's number under the wrong name.
• MIT-WPU fee, 2026-27: ₹3,00,000/yr (Civil, Materials Science, Petroleum, Renewable Energy) to ₹4,10,000/yr (CSE and its AI & Data Science, Cloud and Cyber Security specialisations) — MIT-WPU Admission Policy 2026-27, fee and intake annexure, page 74 of 101. The rule book creates no management-quota route and no separate quota fee, so the published branch fee is what the seat costs however you reach it.

📋 E-Scrutiny vs Physical Scrutiny — 2026 Document Verification

You confirm your application in one of two ways, and you choose which: self-scrutiny of the documents you uploaded, done online through your own login, or verification at a Facilitation Centre. Whichever you pick, the CET Cell requires you to be able to produce the original documents in support of every claim in the form. The step is not optional — an application that was never confirmed does not enter the merit list at all.

💵 TFWS — 5% Supernumerary Tuition Fee Waiver Seats

TFWS (Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme) is a 5% supernumerary quota — over and above the regular sanctioned intake. If allotted, your entire tuition fee is waived for all 4 years.

• Eligibility: Family income below Rs 8 Lakh per annum.
• Cutoff reality: across Maharashtra the TFWS closing percentile ran about 1.3 points above Open in CAP Round I 2026 — but at the Pune colleges in this list the gap is a fraction of a point and does not always run that way. The State CET Cell brochure makes TFWS mandatory for every approved technical institution, and the CAP Round-I 2026 cut-off list carries 86 TFWS rows at Government colleges and 28 at Government-Aided Autonomous ones. COEP Technological University has nine TFWS rows of its own — TFWS Computer Science and Engineering closed at 99.945 percentile — and COEP’s revised 2026-27 fee sheet (1 September 2026) puts a TFWS student’s payable amount at ₹30,634 against ₹1,56,464 on an OPEN CAP seat. What TFWS does not reach is the universities outside CAP (MIT-WPU, Symbiosis SIT), which run their own fee-waiver schemes instead. • Round III is decided on 24 August — know your auto-freeze band before you open the result: the Round-III option form closed on 22 August 2026 and the provisional allotment is published on 24 August. If the seat you are given sits inside your first six preferences, it is auto-freezed: you keep it and you are out of Round IV. That is the CET Cell’s own standing warning on its home page for this round. Acceptance runs 25–28 August, and the two steps close at different times — online acceptance at 3:00 PM, institute reporting at 5:00 PM.
• If you are not auto-freezed, Round IV is the last option form of the year: vacant seats are published on 29 August, the option form runs 30 August – 1 September, and the allotment on 3 September 2026 is final — there is no betterment round after it. Treat this form as the end of the line, not as another draft.
• Caste Validity or NCL still on a receipt? The deadline is the Round-IV reporting date, not “whenever it arrives”: a candidate who registered on a receipt for a Caste/Tribe Validity, Non-Creamy Layer or EWS certificate must get the original verified at a Scrutiny Center and submitted to the admitting institute on or before the final reporting date of CAP Round IV, 7 September 2026. • Check your home university zone before filling options: Verify which university zone your Class 12 school is in (Mumbai University, SPPU Pune, RTMNU Nagpur, BAMU Aurangabad, etc.). List colleges from your home university zone first — the home university preference seats at these colleges are your best chance of accessing them at your percentile.
• Register for the institute-level option form now — but do not pay anyone for a seat yet: if your percentile is short of what your target Pune colleges are closing at, the institute-level route is what remains, and its option form closed on the CAP portal on 7 September 2026. The admissions themselves only run 8–14 September, after CAP finishes. The CET Cell’s public notice of 21 August 2026 says exactly that, and warns candidates and parents against agents or private counsellors who claim they can arrange a seat before the CAP rounds are over. Any college offer made outside a published, advertised merit list is not a legitimate one.
