Jhalawar Medical College is the government medical college for the Hadoti belt of south-east Rajasthan — Jhalawar, Baran and the districts around them — and it has admitted MBBS students since July 2008. Reachable on rank. MCC Round 1 of 2026 closed at AIR 6,653 here against 3,010 at RUHS CMS Jaipur. A rank between those two gets Jhalawar and not Jaipur.
Clinical volume out of proportion to the town. 860 beds, because SRG serves the whole Hadoti belt.
Three fee tiers, so a Rajasthan candidate has a fallback. Missing the 70 government seats does not end the attempt — 70 management and 30 NRI seats run through the same counselling.
What it is not: a metro college. Jhalawar is about 85 km from Kota and 330 km from Jaipur; the coaching and PG-prep ecosystem of a big city is not on your doorstep. A real trade-off, not a detail.

How to read these four numbers before you use them
These are All-India MCC ranks, not the Rajasthan cutoff. They govern 30 seats. The other 170 close on the state board’s own merit list, normally far more relaxed for a domicile candidate — do not plan a state attempt against 6,653.
Round 1 is the toughest round, not the final one. Round 2, mop-up and stray vacancy close at worse (higher) ranks. Quoting 6,653 as “the 2026 cutoff” makes a reachable college look unreachable.
The PwD row cannot be compared with the rows above it. PwD candidates sit on a separate merit list, which is why 4,06,374 appears next to 6,653. It does not mean the college closed at four lakh.
Provisional means provisional. MCC published this on 21 August 2026 and the cycle has not closed. Nothing here should be averaged or projected into 2027.
