Quick Answer Jhalawar Medical College’s 200 MBBS seats split into 170 filled by the Rajasthan NEET-UG counselling board (70 government seats, 70 management seats, 30 NRI seats) and 30 filled by MCC as the All-India Quota. In MCC Round 1 of 2026 the AIQ open category closed at All India Rank 6,653. Every one of the 200 is a NEET-merit allotment — the management and NRI seats are fee tiers, not seats an agent can sell you.

๐Ÿฅ About Jhalawar Medical College

Jhalawar Medical College is the government medical college for the Hadoti belt of south-east Rajasthan — Jhalawar, Baran and the districts around them — and it has admitted MBBS students since July 2008. Two things separate it from most colleges of its generation. The intake is large for a district college and stable: 200 seats in both AY 2024-25 and AY 2025-26 on the NMC seat matrix. And its teaching hospital is bigger than the town suggests, because SRG is the referral centre for the whole belt rather than for one district.

๐ŸŽฏ The four routes into Jhalawar Medical College

In one line: the state board allots 170 seats across three fee tiers and MCC allots 30 — and most pages about this college mention neither the tiers nor the split.

RouteSeatsWho can take itReading note
Government seat — Rajasthan state counselling70Rajasthan domicile/bonafide candidatesCheapest tier, and the only one carrying the ₹10 lakh service bond

โš  The correction most pages get wrong: Jhalawar does have management and NRI seats — 100 of its 200. What it does not have is a seat anyone can sell you: all 100 are allotted by the state board on NEET rank at a published fee. An agent offering a “management seat” outside the counselling portal is running a scam. Route mechanics: AIQ vs state-quota guide.

๐Ÿ’ผ Where Free Counselling Helps at Jhalawar Medical College

If your rank sits anywhere near 6,653, the decision that matters is which of the four routes above you fill and in what order. That is what our free counselling does — it is guidance, never a seat purchase.

๐Ÿจ SRG Hospital — the 860-bed base you train on

In one line: teaching happens at Shri Rajendra Girdhari Lal (SRG) Hospital, which the NMC associated-hospital register records at 860 beds, 30 of them emergency beds (HFID IN0810000164, registered 1 April 2007).

Bed count is the closest available proxy for how many patients an undergraduate is actually put in front of during a posting, and 860 puts SRG ahead of the combined 605-bed base at RUHS CMS Jaipur — a college whose All-India Quota closes about 3,600 ranks tougher.

โœ… What Jhalawar is genuinely good for — and what it is not

๐Ÿ“š Course structure

The MBBS here is the standard NMC competency-based course — four and a half years in three phases plus a compulsory one-year rotating internship — with university examinations conducted by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur. It is identical at every NMC-recognised college in India, so we have not repeated it: the phase-by-phase breakdown lives in our MBBS admission guide. The one part that is local is the internship stipend, which follows Rajasthan government norms and is not listed in any current public notification we can cite — ask for the figure in writing at reporting.

How to read these four numbers before you use them

Earlier cycles are not listed: no Jhalawar-specific category-wise closing table for previous years is available from MCC or the state board, and we will not reprint an aggregator’s number in its place.

๐Ÿ“… Which counselling you register for

Two processes run in parallel and you can be in both: the Rajasthan board for the 170 state seats, MCC at mcc.nic.in for the 30 All-India Quota seats. Round mechanics, hold-versus-upgrade rules and deadline traps are identical at every Rajasthan college, so they live once in our AIQ vs state-quota guide instead of being repeated here.

One Jhalawar-specific rule worth knowing early: the state board enables NRI choice filling only after physical verification of your NRI documents. Miss that verification and the 30 NRI seats are not on your screen at all.

๐Ÿ’ธ What you pay, and when — security deposit, bond and fee

In one line: before you can even fill choices you pay a refundable security deposit whose size depends on the tier you are aiming at, and the government tier carries a ₹10 lakh bond that the management and NRI tiers do not.

PaymentAmountReading note
Application / registration fee₹2,500 (UR, Gen-EWS, non-domicile)
₹1,500 (SC/ST/ST-STA with Rajasthan domicile)
Non-refundable, plus transaction charges
Security deposit — government seat₹50,000Refundable. Paid before choice filling; adjusted against tuition if you join. Not the fee.
Security deposit — management seat₹2,00,000Refundable. Paying this tier also unlocks choices at every government and government-society college.
Security deposit — NRI seat₹5,00,000Refundable
Bond — government seat only₹10,00,000Not to leave the course, and to serve the Rajasthan government for 2 years afterwards. Read “government seat” literally — the bulletin excludes management and NRI seats.
Bond — management or NRI seatNo cash bondInstead, if you leave mid-course the fees of all remaining semesters fall due
Tuition feeNot listedThe board does not publish per-college tuition. We will print a figure when the college publishes one, not before.

Official source: Rajasthan counselling board 2026 Information Bulletin — deposits p.30, registration fee p.26, bond pp.24–25. The management-seat bond rests on Government of Rajasthan letter F.7(86) CM-HM-Budget-DME-Acad.-2015-3285 dated 15 July 2021.

The trap in these numbers: ₹50,000, ₹2,00,000 and ₹5,00,000 are widely reprinted as “the Rajasthan MBBS fee”. They are refundable security deposits that decide which choices your portal lets you fill; they come back or come off tuition. Nothing here should be multiplied by 4.5. Scholarships and loans work the same at every Rajasthan government college — see the Rajasthan MBBS hub.

๐Ÿจ Hostel

The college declares to NMC that it houses at least 75% of its students on campus, with separate boys’ and girls’ hostels. The hostel tariff is not listed in any current public document we can cite, so we have not guessed one — ask for the written charges at reporting, and ask whether mess is billed separately, because at government colleges it usually is.

Official source: NMC MSMER college pro-forma, code jmcjha, field 19 “Is 75% Student Accommodation”, captured 23 August 2026.

๐Ÿš€ After the degree — the bond decides your first two years

The ladder after an MBBS is the same everywhere and our MBBS admission guide covers it. What is specific here is the bond: two years of Rajasthan government service after the course, backed by a ₹10 lakh commitment, on government seats only. Plan the NEET-PG timeline around those two years instead of discovering them at reporting — management and NRI entrants carry no service bond, which is part of what the higher fee buys.

Official source: Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counseling Board 2026, Information Bulletin, pp.24–25, captured 23 August 2026.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Documents

The document list is the standard NEET-UG counselling set and is maintained in one place, our counselling documents guide. Two items are Jhalawar-specific enough to flag: a valid Rajasthan bonafide/domicile certificate in the state board’s own format, without which the 140 government and management seats are closed to you; and, for an NRI choice, the sponsor documents that must clear physical verification before choice filling opens, not at reporting.

โš–๏ธ Jhalawar vs RUHS CMS Jaipur — the comparison that decides most choice lists

These are the two government colleges a mid-range Rajasthan rank actually chooses between, and MCC Round 1 of 2026 separates them cleanly.

โ“ Frequently Asked Questions โ€” Jhalawar Medical College MBBS 2026

Jhalawar Medical College has 200 MBBS seats. 170 are allotted by the Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counseling Board — 70 government, 70 management and 30 NRI — and 30 are allotted by MCC as the All-India Quota. The NMC seat matrix records 200 for both AY 2024-25 and AY 2025-26.
Not listed. The Rajasthan counselling board does not publish per-college tuition in its 2026 bulletin and directs candidates to the institution’s own notification. What the bulletin does publish is the refundable security deposit payable before choice filling — ₹50,000 for a government seat, ₹2,00,000 for a management seat, ₹5,00,000 for an NRI seat — which is adjusted against tuition if you join. Those three figures are deposits, not fees, and are widely misreported as the fee.
In MCC Round 1 of 2026, which is provisional, the All-India Quota closed at All India Rank 6,653 for Open, 7,299 for OBC, 7,439 for EWS, 41,882 for SC and 41,501 for ST. Those ranks govern only the 30 AIQ seats. The other 170 close on the Rajasthan board’s own merit list, normally far more relaxed for a domicile candidate. Round 1 is the toughest round of the cycle — Round 2, mop-up and stray vacancy close at worse ranks.
Qualify NEET-UG 2026, then register with the Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counseling Board for the 170 state seats and/or with MCC at mcc.nic.in for the 30 All-India Quota seats. Fill Jhalawar Medical College — MCC institute code 200252 — in your choices. Every seat, including the management and NRI tiers, is allotted on NEET merit through counselling; none of them is sold outside it.
The 140 government and management seats at Jhalawar Medical College need valid Rajasthan domicile/bonafide eligibility. The 30 All-India Quota seats filled by MCC are open to any Indian candidate regardless of domicile. The 30 NRI seats need NRI documents cleared at physical verification before choice filling opens.
Yes, on the government seats. The Rajasthan counselling board’s 2026 Information Bulletin requires a bond of ₹10.00 lakh, committing you not to leave the course before completion and to serve the State Government for 2 years afterwards. The bulletin explicitly excludes management and NRI seats from that bond; those tiers instead undertake to pay the fees of all remaining semesters if the course is left mid-way.
Yes. The college declares to NMC that it accommodates at least 75% of its students, with separate boys’ and girls’ hostels. The hostel tariff is not listed in any public document we can cite, so ask for the written charges at reporting, and ask separately whether mess is billed on top.
After the 4.5-year course you complete a compulsory one-year rotating internship, then most graduates sit NEET-PG / NExT for an MD/MS seat. If you took a government seat, the two-year Rajasthan service bond falls due after the course, so plan the PG timeline around it. The degree is awarded by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, is NMC-recognised, and is valid for PG entrance and medical registration across India.
Yes, through the 30 All-India Quota seats that MCC fills at mcc.nic.in, which are open to any Indian candidate. In MCC Round 1 of 2026 those seats closed at All India Rank 6,653 for Open and 7,299 for OBC. The 170 state-counselling seats need Rajasthan domicile/bonafide eligibility.
It is a Rajasthan government college, affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, NMC-recognised, and teaching on SRG Hospital, which the NMC register puts at 860 beds. The concrete case for it is that 860 beds is a larger teaching base than RUHS CMS Jaipur’s two hospitals combined while the All-India Quota closes about 3,600 ranks later, so it is reachable on a rank Jaipur is not. The concrete case against it is location: Jhalawar is a small town roughly 85 km from Kota.

Every figure above comes from one of these five documents and nothing else. No aggregator is used. Where a figure exists in none of them, the page says not listed.
