AIMS Kochi and Amrita Hospital Kochi: MBBS overview

Amrita Kochi admits MBBS students through MCC deemed-university counselling on NEET-UG rank. Its 2026 prospectus lists 126 General and 23 NRI seats. General tuition is ₹25 lakh per year, with ₹1.125 crore published tuition for 4.5 academic years; hostel, other fees and processing are separate.

Amrita School of Medicine at Kochi is part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The university uses the name Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), and its research page also uses Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kochi, in connection with Amrita Hospital. The MBBS programme page identifies Kochi and Faridabad as the two MBBS campuses. A Faridabad fee sheet should not be used as a Kochi bill.

MBBS seats and counselling route

The 2026 Kochi prospectus divides the 149 seats into 126 General and 23 NRI seats. NMC’s AY2026–27 matrix, as of 18 September 2026, also lists 149 for Amrita School of Medicine, Elamkara, Kochi. The table below counts allotment records in each result, not new seats sanctioned in each round.

The published tuition total is not an all-inclusive MBBS budget. NRI tuition and hostel amounts are in US dollars; the other-fee and processing entries are in rupees.

Hostel, mess and budgeting

Kochi’s first-year hostel and mess rate is ₹94,000 for General students and US$1,600 for NRI students. The prospectus treats hostel and mess separately from tuition. Faridabad’s higher hostel rate does not apply to this campus. Use the institution’s payment instructions for the allotted category and retain the official receipt.

Scope: Round 1 counts MBBS allotments in that final result. Round 2 and Round 3 count fresh allotments and upgraded allotments into this college in the respective final result; retained seats, earlier-round-only records and candidates who did not fill fresh choices are excluded. Categories are the allotted seat categories, not the candidates' categories.

Reading the figures: Record counts are not approved intake, vacancies or confirmed admissions. Compare the same quota and allotted category across rounds. These historical allotment ranks do not guarantee a seat in another round or year.

NEET score or All India Rank?

This cut off table reports NEET All India Rank, not a NEET score. Read each row using its counselling round, quota and allotted category. Open is the allotted-category label to consult when comparing General-category cutoffs; reserved and PwD entries remain separate, using the same AIR unit. Allotment records are not sanctioned intake. A later round can close at a better or worse rank; eligibility and vacancies still control participation.

Eligibility for MBBS and the admission process

Amrita Kochi uses NEET-UG and MCC deemed-university counselling for MBBS. Register through MCC, choose the exact institution and quota for which you are eligible, and complete choice submission under the applicable round rules. Management quota searches should be read here in the context of MCC-allotted paid/General seats, not an offline admission payment. A fee category or an adviser’s shortlist cannot replace an official allotment.

  1. Read the MCC counselling bulletin and the institution’s admission instructions for the relevant year.
  2. Complete MCC registration and required payments, then order eligible college and quota choices according to your genuine preferences.
  3. Check the official allotment result and download the allotment letter if a seat is allotted.
  4. Report to the allotted institution with the required originals and complete document, medical and fee formalities.

For changing schedules, registration windows and reporting notices, use MCC UG medical counselling and Amrita Kochi official admission information.

Reporting documents and preparation

The Kochi prospectus asks for originals with one set of self-attested photocopies and eight passport photographs. Its checklist includes school and NEET/MCC admission records, transfer and conduct certificates, migration and identity documents. NRI candidates also need the applicable passport and visa records, sponsorship affidavit, embassy evidence and relationship documentation. Check the checklist against the candidate’s own status; financial support alone does not establish NRI eligibility.

Kochi versus Faridabad: compare the fee heads

Both Amrita campuses publish General tuition of ₹25 lakh per year and a ₹1.125 crore academic-tuition total in their 2026 material. Kochi has 149 seats, compared with Faridabad’s 150. Their hostel, other-fee and deposit schedules differ, so compare the complete campus-specific fee sheet rather than assuming one Amrita total. Amrita’s official MBBS page also states that it has not appointed admission agents in India. Submit your MCC application yourself and use official institution payment channels.

The official Amrita MBBS programme page lists Kochi and Faridabad. Use the exact campus name in MCC rather than selecting a university headquarters location.

Are Kochi and Faridabad MBBS fees identical?

Their 2026 General tuition and published academic-tuition totals match, but their hostel, other-fee and deposit schedules do not. Use the prospectus of the campus actually allotted.

Can an agent reserve an Amrita Kochi MBBS seat?

Admission requires the official MCC allotment. Amrita says it has not appointed admission agents in India. Counselling advice cannot reserve or guarantee a college seat.

Can a later MCC round guarantee admission at a higher AIR?

No. Closing ranks reflect the particular candidates, quota and allotted category in that result. Later rounds can move in either direction, and entry depends on eligibility, choices and actual vacancies.

Are allotment records the same as the number of MBBS seats?

No. A result records allotment events for that round. The institution’s intake comes from the cited seat matrix or prospectus; records across rounds should not be added together to infer intake.
