Reading the course cost correctly
₹20 lakh × 4.5 years = ₹90 lakh in tuition-only arithmetic. It excludes the separate charges above and does not establish the timing of instalments. The ₹1 lakh combined college and hostel caution deposits are separate from tuition and remain subject to the document’s refund deductions.
Hostel, sharing and mess costs
The ₹75,000 yearly hostel figure covers room rent only. The document specifies twin/three sharing for girls and three sharing for boys. Mess is approximately ₹6,000 per month; do not treat an assumed number of months as a college-issued annual bill. The hostel caution deposit is separate from room rent and mess.

MBBS eligibility and admission route
The college requires completion of age 17 by 31 December of the admission year; HSC/10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany and Zoology; the applicable NMC minimum marks; and an eligible NEET-UG score.
The official document directs candidates to MCC of DGHS for MBBS counselling. Check the current eligibility rules, register on the official portal, select eligible choices, and follow the reporting instructions attached to the actual allotment. A counselling enquiry or fee payment to an intermediary does not replace an official allotment.

| Round | Quota | Allotted category | Opening AIR | Closing AIR | Allotment records | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | Self-Financed Merit Seat | Open | 1,38,955 | 11,94,131 | 77 | MCC R1, p. 1272 |

| Round 3 | Self-Financed Merit Seat | Open | 2,50,647 | 11,91,443 | 98 | MCC R3, p. 1919 |
Scope: Round 1 counts MBBS allotments in that final result. Round 2 and Round 3 count fresh allotments and upgraded allotments into this college in the respective final result; retained seats, earlier-round-only records and candidates who did not fill fresh choices are excluded. Categories are the allotted seat categories, not the candidates' categories.
Reading the figures: Record counts are not approved intake, vacancies or confirmed admissions. Compare the same quota and allotted category across rounds. These historical allotment ranks do not guarantee a seat in another round or year.
Official sources: MCC 2026 Round 1 final result; MCC 2026 Round 2 final result; MCC 2026 Round 3 final result. Each row links to the PDF page containing its closing AIR.
These ranks are for MBBS, Self-Financed Merit Seat quota, allotted category Open at J R Medical College and Hospital, Villupuram. AIR means NEET-UG All India Rank; these are allotment ranks, not marks or qualifying cutoffs.
How to read the Round 2 cutoff
The MCC final 2026 Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 results use actual Round 1 allotments and fresh/upgraded allotments for Rounds 2 and 3. Retained seats are excluded from the later-round counts, so those rows describe new allotment events rather than all occupied seats.
The allotment count is neither sanctioned intake nor the number of students who ultimately joined. “Open” is the allotted seat category; a candidate’s personal category can differ. Ranks are historical observations, not an admission guarantee.
Government Villupuram Medical College is a different institution. Compare the same college, course, year, quota and allotted category when using a cutoff. View official MCC undergraduate counselling results and seat matrices.
MD/MS at JR Medical College: what decides a PG seat
📌 In one line: this page covers JR’s MBBS. For MD/MS you are looking at a different counselling process entirely, run by MCC, and the seat matrix is the document that settles it.
- The exam is NEET-PG, not NEET-UG. An MBBS seat here says nothing about a PG seat: separate exam, separate merit list, separate counselling.
- MCC runs the counselling that matters. PG seats at deemed and private medical colleges go through MCC’s PG counselling rounds. The college does not fill them on its own, and nobody outside that process can allot one to you.
- Check the seat matrix before you plan around this college. Which MD/MS specialities a college offers, and how many seats in each, is published in MCC’s PG seat matrix for the cycle — it changes year to year, so read the current one at mcc.nic.in rather than any list that is not dated.
- As of 2 October 2026 MCC’s PG counselling for 2026 has not begun — its own page says the seat matrix from NMC and NBEMS is still awaited. Anything telling you PG registration is open is ahead of the authority.
