📌 In one line: what you pay depends on how you got the seat, not on the college — ₹1,20,320 a year on a KCET seat (KEA-fixed, 2026-27), ₹4.5–5.5 lakh a year on PES’s own JEE Main quota, and an amount PES does not publish on management or NRI seats.

B.Tech fees are charged per year and vary by branch and by the route that got you the seat. A one-time non-refundable administrative charge of ₹10,000 also applies.

On a KCET government seat (allotted by KEA):

On PES’s JEE Main quota (PESU Merit):

Do not multiply either column by four. PES raised every branch by ₹20,000 between these two years, so a flat four-year total is already wrong by your second year.

Management, higher-fee, NRI, foreign, OCI and PIO seats: PES does not publish this fee. PES University Bangalore Hostel — Fees & Facilities

📌 In one line: PES runs the Ring Road boys’ hostel directly; the Ring Road girls’ hostel and both Electronic City hostels are run by a third-party operator, Living Space — and neither publishes a fixed annual tariff.

PES University’s own hostel page splits accommodation into two parts. The Ring Road (RR) Boys’ Hostel is administered directly by PES — admission requires introducing a Local Guardian, attending a mandatory briefing session with the student, parent and Local Guardian present, submitting a filled hostel application form, and paying the hostel fee by demand draft in favour of “PESIT Hostel”, payable at Bengaluru. PES’s own hostel-admission page describes this four-step process in detail but does not publish a rupee figure for the annual hostel fee anywhere on that page.

For the RR Girls’ Hostel and the Boys’/Girls’ Hostel at the Electronic City campus, PES’s own hostel page directs students to a separate, third-party operator — Living Space (livingspaceblr.com) — for “complete information.” These hostels are not run in-house by PES University.

PES’s placement page shows 440+ companies, 1,700+ placement offers, 1,400+ internship offers and a highest offer of ₹68 lakh, and credits them to the graduating batch of 2026. It prints no year beside the counters and does not link the Placement Brochure it mentions, so treat them as PES’s own headline numbers, not an audited report.

What Is the Average Package for CSE at PES University (2026)?

PES does not publish an average package — not for CSE, not for the university as a whole, and not separately for the Electronic City (EC) campus. What it files is a median for all placed B.Tech graduates: ₹13.05 lakh for 2024-25, ₹12.8 lakh for 2023-24 and ₹12 lakh for 2022-23 (PES’s NIRF 2026 engineering submission). Read it with the count beside it: 1,068 of 1,526 graduates were placed and 258 went on to higher studies, so the median describes the 1,068, not the whole batch. Any CSE-only or EC-campus “average package” you see on a portal or forum is not a PES figure; ask the PES placement office for branch-wise data before you decide.

PES University Cutoff 2026 — KCET & JEE Main (PESU Merit)

KCET 2026 Cutoff — KEA Round 1 Allotment

KEA’s Round 1 allotment of 15 July 2026 — General Merit (GM), Rest-of-Karnataka seat type. KEA lists PES University under two college codes: E009 (100 Feet Ring Road, Banashankari) and E141 (Electronic City Campus). These closing ranks decide KCET government-seat allotment; they are separate from the PESU KCET rank list that PES publishes on admissions.pes.edu for the PESU Merit seats it fills itself.

How to read these ranks: Round 1 is the tightest round, not the final word. Later rounds close looser — in 2025 the Ring Road CSE close moved from 934 in Round 1 to 1,375.5 in Round 2 and 1,654 in Round 3 — so a rank some way past 628 was not automatically out. KEA’s Round-2 mock list of 17 August 2026 showed Ring Road CSE at 911 and Electronic City CSE at 4,227; a mock is a preview, not an allotment.

JEE Main Cutoff (PESU Merit)

PES does not publish a JEE Main cut-off, so no percentile you see quoted anywhere is PES’s figure. It ranks the students who register at admissions.pes.edu on its own PESU JEE Rank List and counsels from that list — for the 2027 intake PES lists the rank list for May 2027 and the first PESU JEE counselling for June 2027, both marked tentative. Upload both JEE Main session scores when PES asks. PESU Merit seats can also be filled on KCET scores, through a separate PESU KCET rank list (July 2027, tentative). There is no separate PES entrance exam for B.Tech.

PES University B.Tech Seats 2026-27 — Intake Split

📌 In one line: Karnataka reserves 40% of every course at PES for KCET government seats — 681 at Ring Road and 476 at Electronic City in 2026, per KEA — and PES does not publish how it splits the other 60%.

Each figure adds KEA’s Hyderabad-Karnataka and Rest-of-Karnataka shares (Ring Road CSE is 22 + 250). — = branch not listed under that code in KEA’s seat matrix.

Not published by PES: how the remaining 60% is split between its PESU Merit quota (JEE Main or KCET scores) and its higher-fee, management and NRI seats. PES’s NIRF 2026 filing gives a sanctioned four-year UG intake of 2,400 for 2024-25. A published seat count is not a promise of allotment.

Does PES University Accept COMEDK?

No. PES University does not accept COMEDK scores for B.Tech admission. PES uses only KCET and JEE Main scores: KCET for the government seats KEA allots, JEE Main or KCET for its own PESU Merit seats, and one of the two even for its management, NRI and higher-fee seats. COMEDK is used by many other Bangalore private colleges, but PES University is not a COMEDK-participating institute — so there is no PES University COMEDK cutoff, and no “PES University B.Tech CSE fee through COMEDK”. The “PES” you may see in COMEDK lists is P.E.S. College of Engineering, Mandya, a different institution. A COMEDK rank alone will not get you into PES by any route: PES’s own FAQ says you must sit KCET or JEE Main even for a management seat. If COMEDK is your only score this year, put your effort into COMEDK colleges (see COMEDK vs management quota), and sit JEE Main or KCET if you want PES next year.

PES University B.Tech Admission — Routes & Eligibility

📌 In one line: the 2026 intake is over — KEA finished its three KCET rounds on 7 September 2026 — and PES opened B.Tech 2027 registration on 3 September 2026.

Round-3 reporting for KCET 2026 closed at 6.00 pm on 11 September 2026. On 8 September 2026 KEA handed 24,283 unallotted engineering seats across Karnataka back to the colleges, and no mop-up round has been notified. For 2027, PES’s first merit list (the Early Admissions Commitment round) is due in February 2027 — if you are aiming for 2027, register at admissions.pes.edu and sit JEE Main or KCET.

PES University accepts only JEE Main and KCET scores for B.Tech — there is no separate PES entrance test for engineering. It fills seats through three routes:

Eligibility: 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at 10+2, plus a valid JEE Main or KCET score — PES’s own bar for the seats it fills itself. For a KCET government seat KEA’s minimum applies instead: 45% in Physics and Mathematics together with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics or Computer (40% for SC/ST, Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B). JEE Main applicants: upload both session scores when PES asks — PES does not say it uses the better of the two.

B.Tech Admission Process

1. Register at admissions.pes.edu and pay the application fee to create your admission dashboard.
2. Upload scores — once JEE Main / KCET results are out, sign in and upload your scores as instructed.
3. PESU merit rank list — PES announces its PESU JEE Main / PESU KCET merit rank list.
4. Counselling & admission — attend counselling at PES, select your seat, and complete admission.

Note on PESSAT: PESSAT (PES's own entrance test) is not used for B.Tech admission. PES’s own FAQ says PESSAT has been discontinued for B.Tech; for its other programmes, PES’s own entrance process applies. If you're applying for B.Tech, KCET or JEE Main is your route — not PESSAT.

Is PES University a Deemed or Private University?

PES University is a private state university — not a deemed university. It was established under the PES University Act, 2013 (Karnataka Act 16 of 2013) and is UGC-recognised with NAAC A+ accreditation (CGPA 3.34, first cycle, valid to 6 June 2029). NIRF 2025 places it in the Engineering rank-band 101–150 and the University rank-band 151–200 — a band, not a rank. It gained university status in 2013; PES’s own documents disagree on when the People’s Education Society began (1972 in its university profile, 1965 and 1973 on its history page). Students from any state can apply through JEE Main. KCET government seats are not limited to people who live in Karnataka — KEA decides eligibility by the clauses in its CET-2026 Information Bulletin (years of study in Karnataka, a parent’s service and others) — and a management seat still needs a KCET or JEE Main score.

PES University Campuses — Ring Road (RR) vs Electronic City (EC)

PES University runs B.Tech at two Bangalore campuses, and they are not interchangeable. PES’s own FAQ says the courses at Ring Road and Electronic City are taught by different professors, and KEA ranks them as separate colleges. PES does not publish what its degree certificate prints; if the campus name on your certificate matters to you, ask the PES Office of Admissions to confirm it in writing before you choose Electronic City.

• Ring Road (RR), Banashankari — the flagship campus (100 Feet Ring Road, Banashankari 3rd Stage, Hosakerehalli, Bengaluru 560085; college code E009).
• Electronic City (EC) — a second Bangalore campus in South Bangalore's tech belt. EC admits under its own KEA college code, E141; in KCET 2026 Round 1 (15 July 2026) CSE closed at 3,057 there against 628 at Ring Road — see the KCET cutoff section above.

PES University also runs an MBBS college on its Electronic City campus — PES University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (KEA code M094). PESIMSR at Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, is a separate PES institution.

How to Get Admission via Management / NRI Quota

The Management / Higher-Fee / NRI quota is PES’s own seat category, and it is not a way around the entrance exams: PES’s FAQ says you must take KCET or JEE Main even for these seats. PES does not publish how many seats it keeps in this category or what they cost.

On a KCET seat, PES costs what RVCE costs

KEA fixes ₹1,20,320 for 2026-27 at private universities too — the same total it sets for RVCE and for BMSCE’s un-aided code E048. BMSCE’s aided code E003 is lower at ₹47,100 because it carries a state grant. The gap opens only on PES’s own JEE Main quota, ₹5.5 lakh a year for CSE in 2026-27, so if you are comparing PES with RVCE, compare the same kind of seat. On placements the three do not report the same thing: PES files a median and prints a highest offer, RVCE publishes an average and a highest but no median, and BMSCE files a median and no highest — so set medians against medians, and do not read RVCE’s average against the others’ medians.
