VITEEE — Key Facts
- Conducting body: VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology)
- Purpose: admission to the B.Tech programmes at the VIT campuses — Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) and Bhopal
- Mode & frequency: Computer-based, conducted over several days around April
- Eligibility: Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology and the VIT minimum aggregate
VITEEE 2026 Exam Overview
VITEEE is the single gateway to the VIT campuses. VIT admits on the VITEEE rank through its own counselling, where you choose branch and campus by rank and preference. Many engineering aspirants take VITEEE alongside JEE Main as a strong private-university option.

VITEEE 2026 Eligibility
You must have passed (or be appearing in) Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology, meeting the minimum aggregate specified by VIT (with relaxations for specified categories and regions).
VITEEE Exam Pattern & Marking
- Subjects: Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude and English
- Computer-based test
- Questions: 125 (Mathematics/Biology 40, Physics 35, Chemistry 35, Aptitude 10, English 5); 500 marks; 2 hours 30 minutes
- Marking (new for 2026): +4 for a correct answer, -1 for a wrong answer, 0 for unanswered — per the official VITEEE 2026 pattern
Questions are objective; VITEEE 2026 introduced negative marking (+4 correct, -1 wrong, 0 unanswered). Ranks are used for VIT’s own counselling, where branch and campus are allotted by rank and preference.
