Does ₹5,856 cover five years of MBBS?
The notice calls ₹5,856 an admission fee. It separately collects mess fees, so the admission amount should not be presented as an all-inclusive five-year cost. Keep mess, travel, books and personal expenses separate when preparing a budget, and use the institute's applicable reporting instructions for payment.
Seat surrender in the 2025 notice
The same document states a ₹3,00,000 penalty for a student vacating or surrendering a confirmed seat. This is a 2025 seat-surrender clause, not an annual fee or a rural-service bond. Before accepting or resigning a seat, read the applicable institute notice and MCC rules together.

Why a later round is not automatically easier
Patna's Open closing AIR moved from 1,593 in Round 1 to 1,239 in Round 2, then to 1,665 in Round 3. The Round 2 value was numerically lower. This actual sequence shows why assuming that every later round accepts a higher rank can mislead a choice list. PwD rows also use the source's AIR field; their reservation conditions are different, rather than the number becoming a separate PwD merit rank.
For choice filling, compare the same quota and category across colleges, then order acceptable options by your own preferences. A previous closing AIR is evidence of that round's allotments, not a guarantee for the next round or year.
AIIMS Patna Admission Process and Eligibility
- Qualify NEET-UG and meet AIIMS eligibility. MCC's AIIMS chapter requires NEET qualification, describes the route as domicile-free and retains the institute's eligibility conditions.
- Register for MCC UG counselling. Complete the official application and applicable payment, then select the correct Patna institute and course in your choices.
- Read the allotment and round rules. Acceptance, upgrading, resignation and subsequent participation depend on the applicable MCC instructions.
- Report to AIIMS Patna after allotment. Complete document verification, the institute's admission payment and medical examination requirements.

Reporting Documents at AIIMS Patna
The institute's 2025 checklist is a useful preparation reference: it asks for originals, two sets of self-attested copies and five recent colour passport photographs.
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates, plus the migration certificate.
- NTA registration slip, NEET admit card, scorecard/rank letter and MCC allotment letter.
- Candidate and guardian identity proof.
- Applicable Central Government category certificates in the MCC format, and authorised PwBD certification where required.

Course, Hostel Budget and Higher Studies
The standard MBBS structure comprises 4½ academic years followed by a one-year compulsory rotating internship. Academic teaching, clinical postings and internship are different stages; an admission fee does not describe the total cost of living through all of them. See the NMC course-duration notice.
For accommodation planning, separate the college reporting process from the room-allotment process and recurring mess payments. Patna's 2025 notice specifically collects two months of mess fees.
